Reintroduce Yourself...

Hi guys! Monday again after an awesome weekend. And today is a fun day, cause it's the reintroduce yourself blogfest, hosted by the awesome Mark Koopman, C.M. Brown, Elise Fallson and Stephen Tremp. Make sure to stop by all their sites to say hi!!

In the meantime, things about myself:
My favorite place is Disneyworld. My second favorite place is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Because of the two above-mentioned things, my house looks sort of like an ambitious thirteen year old decorated it. Tons of Disney figurines everywhere, a dragon shield in the dining room, and wind-chimes hanging in almost every corner. I don't know what the wind-chimes have to do with anything but I thought I'd mention them. I love it though. It goes with my family, which is loud, irreverent and about as unconventional as someone could get. My four kids, husband, rotten grandson and four doggies are all my favorite parts of being me.

  1. Hi Tamara .. sounds fun - but one I'd be relieved to get out of to some sanity - after a while. Obviously all the chaos, figurines, dragon slayers do their magic for you and the family ... mind you the irreverent and unconventional would suit me down to the ground ...

Life is to be enjoyed ... I'll remember where TamaraWorld is .... have a magic week - Hilary

    1. haha...thanks, Hilary. That's how most people feel after leaving my house! It was even worse when the kids were little. I was the house in the neighborhood that everyone hung out at and there were always a million kids playing music and putting on shows in the living room, destroying the kitchen and, in general, wreaking havoc. So the last few years of only three at home and one small grandchild (who does wreak a fair amount of havoc all by himself) is positively calm for us.

  3. Our house isn't conventional either.

Disney World is the only Orlando park I haven't visited yet.

    1. WHY???? Disney is awesome. You have to at least see Magic Kingdom. SO pretty!!

    2. Actually, the Magic Kingdom is the only part I haven't seen. We did visit Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM Studios. (Or whatever it's called now.)

  4. Wow. Those are amazing pictures.

The only word to describe my house is messing. It screams: Writer Lives Here! :D Your decorating style sounds cool.

    1. Yeah, I didn't mention the messy part, but I have that one down-pat. When it comes down to clean or write, guess which one I choose every time??? :)

  6. I have not been in any of those places but they are in my list (including your house, hahaha). I have heard wind chimes chase evil spirits away. :)

    1. You are always welcome at my house, Father Dragon. You can even bring the dwarves! :) And yeah, I've heard that about wind-chimes too...my house already has a protection spell on it though, so it's not necessary. ;)

  9. I went to the Magic Kingdom when I was twelve. The castle blew me away with its scale and grandeur. I had never seen anything like it! Later, I went through an archway and there was a door. I just knew it would lead to a winding narrow staircase, and I would follow it...and then! I opened the door and found a utility closet filled with electrical cords and cleaning equipment.
Though this has proved to be a metaphor for much in my life, I still resolutely believe in magic of all kinds and will go to the grave holding fast to that belief.

  10. Cute! I love Disney and I really need to go to HP World. I was in the Orlando airport briefly and I got to see the HP store there and nearly bought the whole thing. The only reason I didn't is because I wanted to remain married. :) Anyway, thanks for posting!

  13. Hey! I love your blog design, and I imagine, I'd love your home. I'm a big fan of potter, too, but I didn't read the books, which is crazy because I loved the movies. Also, it's a crime against humanity, but I've never visited Disney World, which is soon to change. I promised my eight-year-old daughter we'd go once I got published, and I did, so hopefully after my book is released, we'll head to Orlando. It's nice to meet you! I look forward to learning more about your whimsical life.

And congrats on getting published!! A Disney trip is definitely in order to celebrate that!! Nice to meet you as well. :)

  14. Did you change your background? It looks great. The kids and I loved Disney when we went last year, but I have yet to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That'll definitely be on our To Go list when they get a little older and read the books. Love wind chimes too, especially the over sized ones.

HP world is awesome but still a little small...hopefully by the time you go it'll be even better! And yeah, I did change the background. This one is nice and cheerful! :)

  18. LOL - when I started to read this, I was thinking your room must look like my 13 year olds! We followed a Harry Potter trail when we were in England. Saw way too many HP sites. Nice to meet you. Mine intro is linked to my name.

We're lucky to have Disneyland Paris very accessible to us. We've taken the kids three times and we were around for the 20th anniversary celebrations last year.

  23. YAY FOR DISNEY WORLD AND WIZARDING WORLD!!!!!!!!

I thought I was the only person who want to live there. LOL. Seriously, I LOVE those places. I try to get there every year and for the past two I had been there for my birthday which really was magical. I hope to make it again this April.... But right now nothing is definite...

Man you do have your plate full Tamara. FOUR KIDS, DOGS, and a GRANDSON? YOU LOOK WAY TOO YOUNG to be a grandmother!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thank you for saying so! You are my new best friend!! I feel way to young to be a grandma! But my little booboo bear is adorable, even if he is a giant pain in the ass.

And you are DEFINITELY not the only person who would happily move into those places and live there forever. I haven't ever been on my birthday, but we've managed to make a bunch of the kids birthdays--and my husband's one year. My b'day just passed (the 27th) so we never have the money, cause we're always still broke from Christmas. haha

Hope you get to go again in April! It's beautiful that time of year!! Oh, who am I kidding? Disney and Harry Potter world are always beautiful...
