Hi guys! Monday again after an awesome weekend. And today is a fun day, cause it's the reintroduce yourself blogfest, hosted by the awesome Mark Koopman, C.M. Brown, Elise Fallson and Stephen Tremp. Make sure to stop by all their sites to say hi!!
In the meantime, things about myself:
My
favorite place is Disneyworld. My second favorite place is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Because of the two above-mentioned things, my house looks sort of like an
ambitious thirteen year old decorated it. Tons of Disney figurines everywhere,
a dragon shield in the dining room, and wind-chimes hanging in almost every
corner. I don't know what the wind-chimes have to do with anything but I
thought I'd mention them. I love it though. It goes with my family, which is loud, irreverent and about as unconventional as someone could get. My four kids, husband, rotten grandson and four doggies are all my favorite parts of being me.
Hi Tamara .. sounds fun - but one I'd be relieved to get out of to some sanity - after a while. Obviously all the chaos, figurines, dragon slayers do their magic for you and the family ... mind you the irreverent and unconventional would suit me down to the ground ...
ReplyDeleteLife is to be enjoyed ... I'll remember where TamaraWorld is .... have a magic week - Hilary
haha...thanks, Hilary. That's how most people feel after leaving my house! It was even worse when the kids were little. I was the house in the neighborhood that everyone hung out at and there were always a million kids playing music and putting on shows in the living room, destroying the kitchen and, in general, wreaking havoc. So the last few years of only three at home and one small grandchild (who does wreak a fair amount of havoc all by himself) is positively calm for us.
DeleteBet your house is fun and comfortable then!
ReplyDeleteIn the same way a train wreck is fun and comfortable. haha. Only kidding!! :)
DeleteOur house isn't conventional either.
ReplyDeleteDisney World is the only Orlando park I haven't visited yet.
WHY???? Disney is awesome. You have to at least see Magic Kingdom. SO pretty!!
DeleteActually, the Magic Kingdom is the only part I haven't seen. We did visit Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM Studios. (Or whatever it's called now.)
DeleteWow. Those are amazing pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe only word to describe my house is messing. It screams: Writer Lives Here! :D Your decorating style sounds cool.
Yeah, I didn't mention the messy part, but I have that one down-pat. When it comes down to clean or write, guess which one I choose every time??? :)
DeleteWe have yearly passes to Disneyland. And we took a Disney Cruise last fall. We're planning the Disneyworld trip. Yep, were Disney people too.
ReplyDeleteSO envious!!! I've always wanted to go on Disney Cruise. Someday! And yes, you must come to Disneyworld and see all the parks! They're awesome. :)
DeleteI have not been in any of those places but they are in my list (including your house, hahaha). I have heard wind chimes chase evil spirits away. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are always welcome at my house, Father Dragon. You can even bring the dwarves! :) And yeah, I've heard that about wind-chimes too...my house already has a protection spell on it though, so it's not necessary. ;)
DeleteSounds like I wanna visit your place over Disney anytime!
ReplyDeleteMy door is always open!
DeleteI want a dragon shield in my dining room!
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't?
DeleteI went to the Magic Kingdom when I was twelve. The castle blew me away with its scale and grandeur. I had never seen anything like it! Later, I went through an archway and there was a door. I just knew it would lead to a winding narrow staircase, and I would follow it...and then! I opened the door and found a utility closet filled with electrical cords and cleaning equipment.
ReplyDeleteThough this has proved to be a metaphor for much in my life, I still resolutely believe in magic of all kinds and will go to the grave holding fast to that belief.
~Just Jill
I have had similar experiences, but I'm with you. NOBODY is ever going to convince me that magic doesn't exist!!
DeleteCute! I love Disney and I really need to go to HP World. I was in the Orlando airport briefly and I got to see the HP store there and nearly bought the whole thing. The only reason I didn't is because I wanted to remain married. :) Anyway, thanks for posting!
ReplyDeletehaha...I hear ya! And yeah, you have to visit HP world! It's amazing. I hear they are expanding it too!!
DeleteI really want to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I'm a huge fan of the books and would love to see it! I'm determined to visit one day, but it's a long way away from me!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to see it someday! It's definitely worth the trip!
Deletestop! we must visit each other, or meet in orlando!
ReplyDeletei grew up in fl so we went to disney regularly =)
I would love to visit!! Where do you live now? :)
DeleteHey! I love your blog design, and I imagine, I'd love your home. I'm a big fan of potter, too, but I didn't read the books, which is crazy because I loved the movies. Also, it's a crime against humanity, but I've never visited Disney World, which is soon to change. I promised my eight-year-old daughter we'd go once I got published, and I did, so hopefully after my book is released, we'll head to Orlando. It's nice to meet you! I look forward to learning more about your whimsical life.
ReplyDeleteYou HAVE to read the books!! I promise you'll love them (I can't imagine anyone not loving them) They're soooo much better than the movies!1
DeleteAnd congrats on getting published!! A Disney trip is definitely in order to celebrate that!! Nice to meet you as well. :)
Did you change your background? It looks great. The kids and I loved Disney when we went last year, but I have yet to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That'll definitely be on our To Go list when they get a little older and read the books. Love wind chimes too, especially the over sized ones.
ReplyDeleteWind chimes are just so pretty that i never want to hang them outside where I wont' see them as often! Glad you enjoyed Disney. HP world is awesome but still a little small...hopefully by the time you go it'll be even better! And yeah, I did change the background. This one is nice and cheerful! :)
DeleteThat's it! I have to come visit. Your house sounds like so much fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome anytime, Krystal!! :)
DeleteI want to take my sons to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I know they'd have a blast. (And me, too! :D)
ReplyDeleteAs for Disney, I collect things with Grumpy. I heart him.
Grumpy is awesome. :) And yeah WWHP is awesome!! You guys would definitely have fun!
DeleteI love wind chimes too. I used to have lots hanging outside but the storms eventually destroyed them all. Yippee for Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly why I keep mine inside! :)
DeleteLOL - when I started to read this, I was thinking your room must look like my 13 year olds! We followed a Harry Potter trail when we were in England. Saw way too many HP sites. Nice to meet you. Mine intro is linked to my name.
ReplyDeleteYou too, Rhonda! I would love to follow a HP trail--I don't think I could ever see too many HP sites! :)
DeleteHi Tamara! How come I don't drop by here more often? WTF is WRONG with me???? Am fixing this now..... Nice to remeetcha!!!!!
ReplyDeletehaha...you too, Cathy! I know it's hard to keep up with everyone!!
DeleteI haven't been to the Harry Potter theme park yet. Must do it someday...Your house sounds like it would be a fun place to visit!
ReplyDeletehaha...thanks! Fun place to visit, but I'm not sure i want to live here. lol...just kidding...
DeleteLol, I'm sure your grandson isn't that bad. :)
ReplyDeleteWe're lucky to have Disneyland Paris very accessible to us. We've taken the kids three times and we were around for the 20th anniversary celebrations last year.
I've always wanted to go to Disneyland Paris!! You are lucky! As for my grandson, he really is. haha...He's two and a half and his favorite thing to do right now is hit people and fling himself onto the ground to scream. Yet, somehow, he still manages to be adorable. lol...
DeleteYour house sounds interesting.
ReplyDeletethat's one word to describe it. ;)
DeleteI've never been to Disneyland... but hey, your house will do just fine!
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you!
You too, Michelle! Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteYAY FOR DISNEY WORLD AND WIZARDING WORLD!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only person who want to live there. LOL. Seriously, I LOVE those places. I try to get there every year and for the past two I had been there for my birthday which really was magical. I hope to make it again this April.... But right now nothing is definite...
Man you do have your plate full Tamara. FOUR KIDS, DOGS, and a GRANDSON? YOU LOOK WAY TOO YOUNG to be a grandmother!
Thank you for saying so! You are my new best friend!! I feel way to young to be a grandma! But my little booboo bear is adorable, even if he is a giant pain in the ass.
DeleteAnd you are DEFINITELY not the only person who would happily move into those places and live there forever. I haven't ever been on my birthday, but we've managed to make a bunch of the kids birthdays--and my husband's one year. My b'day just passed (the 27th) so we never have the money, cause we're always still broke from Christmas. haha
Hope you get to go again in April! It's beautiful that time of year!! Oh, who am I kidding? Disney and Harry Potter world are always beautiful...
Ahh!! I so want to go to Harry Potter world! And your house. :) It sounds like an awesome place.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shallee!
DeleteHi, there, Tamara.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. I can tell you like things magical.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you too! Thanks for stopping by! :)
DeleteI LOVE DISNEY! no really, i do. my sister works in their financial business for the cruise lines and my other works as a waitress on their property, both in orlando. i have most things disney because of them...happy disney!!
ReplyDeleteWow! that's awesome. I'm so envious! :) What restaurant does your sister work at?
DeleteI've wanted to go to Wizarding World ever since they announced they were making it. The only problem is that I'd like to go when no one else is there. Hmm. Could be a problem. Is it as cool as it looks?
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely as cool as it looks. And the ride in the castle is the most amazing ride I've ever been on! but it is crowded!! i want to go there by myself too!
DeleteAwesome introduction. Your house sounds delightful, and that rotten grandson sounds intriguing. Lovely to meet you, Tamara!
ReplyDeleteyou too, Kern! Thanks for stopping by. :)
