If you're a dreamer, a wisher, a liar
A hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean buyer
If you're a pretender come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
Come in...come in...

Teaser Tuesday

So, it's time for Teaser Tuesday, hosted by Miz Biz at SHOULD BE READING. If you'd like to play, just grab the book you're currently reading, open to a random page, share 2 teaser sentences from somewhere on that page. Make sure not to include spoilers!!! Share the title and the author too, so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR pile!!

My book this week, Paper Valentine, is by one of my favorite authors, Brenna Yovanoff.

This is her third book--following The Replacement and The Space Between

All three are excellent and I'd highly recommend them to anyone--but I think this might've been my favorite so far. It was deep and thoughtful and poetic and sweet and frightening and morbid and true. All at once.

The afternoon is still fresh like a slap, and Finny Boone is probably a sociopath. A big, lighter-stealing sociopath. But his eyes are steady and complicated, and I haven't really taken the time to notice boys since before Lillian died.

    1. I know, right? Brenna Yovanoff has the most beautiful covers for all three of her books. Although, when I looked up the link for The Space Between I was really irritated to see that they'd changed a gorgeous cover to something very generic. I didnt' want to link to the new cover, but I couldn't find the old one. I have no clue why they'd do that though, cause the old cover was super eye-catching and the new one is just plain boring.

    1. I'll be sure to check out your review. I know it's silly reading a review AFTER I read the book, but it's something I always do. haha. I like to know if other people liked/disliked the same things as me. Plus, sometimes reading reviews after the fact can make you notice things you didn't pick up on that make the book even better. :)

  7. Hey,

Too lazy to go find one of my three books... I may never return, but wanted to say I agree that Dreamcatcher was wayyyy too long... Have you read IT or THE STAND?

And if you're a baseball fan, you *have* to read FAITHFUL by SK and Stephen O'man :)

    1. Yes. I have read both of those, although not for many years. I'm a pretty huge King fan though. Not a baseball fan, but if SK wrote it, I'm willing to check it out. I loved the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. :)

    1. Make sure you read it! Her writing is pretty poetic, you should like her. Maggie Stiefvater is her critique partner. I don't know if you've ever read anything from her, but I always think reading Maggie is like reading poetry.
