A HUGE CONGRATS!!!

Today I have a HUGE announcement!

My critique partner, the amazingly wonderful, hugely-talented and all around awesome KAREN DENISE just got signed to SHELDON FOGLEMAN AGENCY in New York!!!!

Karen has worked so hard for this!  She runs a blog, I AM ALWAYS WRITE but she got away from it for a few months so she could really focus on her writing. (We all know what that's like). The announcement that she's been signed came out on her blog today, but I don't think many people saw it.

So, here is what I'm going to do. For anyone who goes to Karen's Blog, follows it, and leave a comment offering her congratulations, I'll critique your first page. If you're wondering why you'd want a critique from me, go HERE.

So, just go to Karen's Blog, leave a comment, and then leave a comment on this blog letting me know you did it. You can email me your first page at tamaradwalsh 'at' yahoo '.' com.

For the first five people who put up a congratulations announcement for Karen on your own blog, (please link it back to hers as well) I'll do  a five-page critique. Just leave a comment below with the link to your blog. I know I can't offer anything amazing like the Shelli Larson "Bigger than A Shopping Mall" giveaway. But that's what Karen deserves. So, I'm going to do what I can to give her a small celebration.

Again, I just can't take on more than five first-five page critiques, but anyone else who wants to offer Karen congratulations on their own blog just to be nice, that would be awesome!!

Let's get together as a community and spread the word. Karen didn't know anyone. She queried and got rejected and etc...etc...We all know the drill. She was found out of the slush pile. And if it can happen to her, it can happen to you. Or me. Or any of us. So, lets show one of our own some love!!!

    1. Karen got there all on her own. I was lucky enough to read the book that got her signed but that was after the agency already had it and was interested in her. I did, however, help a little bit with her new book (not that Kar needs much help.)I feel SO lucky that I got to meet her and we managed to hook up.

  2. Tam, you are the sweetest! You totally did not have to do this. But I certainly thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will return the favor one day, and hopefully one day soon!
Yes, I will be blogging more from now on. Even though I need a new laptop :-(
And Heather, Tammy IS one heck of a crit partner!

    1. :) You're awesome, Kar. I was just thinking about that "Bigger than a Shopping Mall" giveaway and I was like...damn, I don't have a shopping mall but I should do SOMETHING to help Karen celebrate this. Gotta get the word out on you so everyone buys your books when they hit the shelves! :)

    1. Thanks, Alex!! I've actually never critiqued any kind of hardcore sci-fi, so that's probably for the best. I tried to read Heinlein once and I'm pretty sure my head almost exploded. haha.

    2. That is exciting for your friend!!! Congratulations to her!!

Thank you for your comment and follow! I'm following you as well and know I will enjoy your blog.

Steampunk is a lot of fun. I love the possibilities. Have you read Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan books yet? He has some of the best Steampunk, I think, personally 8-)

      Allons-y!

    3. Actually, no--I haven't read those. I've only read Scott's Pretties/Uglies series. I'll have to check out the Leviathan books. Right now I'm actually reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." I think I'm the only person in the YA world who's never read it. :) Thanks for the follow!
