If you're a dreamer, a wisher, a liar
A hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean buyer
If you're a pretender come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
Come in...come in...

THANKS FOR VOTING!

Quick update. First, I want to say thank you so so much for everyone who voted in the Kiss/Kiss off contest. But, as it turns out, the final set of votes had to be discounted because in this last round someone was cheating. They ended up ignoring the votes and just turning the whole thing over to an agent--that way it was up to a trained professional with a totally unbiased opinion to choose the winner. And guess who she chose???

If you guessed me, you're right. haha

So, it turns out that, even though I totally thought I'd been beaten, I wasn't! I won!!!

Now I get a twenty page agent critique. Best case scenario, she wants to keep reading. Worse case scenario, she tells me how to fix it so some other agent will want to keep reading. Either way, it's a win/win situation. I'M SO HAPPY!!

In the meantime, it turns out my grandson was an absolute angel the entire seventeen hour trip. I drove straight through--only stopping three times, for about twenty minutes each time. I was half dead by the time we got here, but I'm all rested up and having a great time  now. Glad I found a few minutes to hop on my blog and say thanks to you guys. YOU ARE ALL AWESOME!!!

  8. Silly me! I came over and read your blog post, commented, then forgot to click publish before leaving....

Anyway, I voted for the right story and I'm so glad you won. What's the purpose of cheating anyway? Sheesh! What people won't do...

Anyway, I knew your story would win because it was the best! Congrats! Now, let's make it through next week!!

    1. Thanks Talyn,

Yeah, I don't understand why someone would cheat. I would never want to win that way.

And yeah--lets hope next week goes as well as this one did!

  10. YIPEE!!!!!!!!!! That's great news!!!! I hope she will want to keep reading 8-D

And I am glad you had a nice car ride, those can get rough sometimes, even without a child going along for it.

Hope you have a nice time!

    1. Thanks, Jack! I'm kinda dreading the car ride back just because it was sooooo long, but it's always nice returning home after a trip. I miss my routine. :) I also got the stomach flu while on vacation, but--other than that--it's been a very nice trip. :)

  12. Hi Tamara,

Just dropping by to see how you're doing! I saw your entry in the final round of the GUTGAA Small Press Pitch contest (under a different title than I saw in previous contests, so it was a surprise!). Hope your writing is going well and that you've made lots of progress in the past month! (I definitely have, manuscript-wise)!

    Cheers,

    John

    1. Hi John!

Nice to "see" you again. haha. Yeah, I've definitely made a lot of good progress with my manuscript, which is funny because I would've sworn I was done. I'm currently knee-deep in revisions again, but--at the same time--there were contests I'd already entered so I have the first three chapters out with curiosity quills press. Luckily, those three didn't need any more revising. haha. I also am waiting to hear about the agent critique for the first twenty pages. REALLY looking forward to that.

Glad to hear you are doing well with yours! Thanks for stopping by. :)

    2. It's funny—each time I get feedback from a Contest or a Beta reader/friend, I look at the MS with new inspiration. I think there is always something you can do to turn a MS from "good" to spectacular. It's just a gruelling process, is all :)

Good luck with CQ. I also got a request from Jessa, so I'm sure that will be another learning experience.

      John
