If you're a dreamer, a wisher, a liar
A hoper, a prayer, a magic-bean buyer
If you're a pretender come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin
Come in...come in...

Express Yourself Meme

Oops. Sneaking in on the last day of the Express Yourself Meme. Sorry for being so late!! So, the question for this week is:

List five movies/books that cause the hair on the back of your neck to stand up.

Easy enough...

Books:

One: Bag of Bones by Stephen King. Some seriously disturbing stuff in here, but an awesome book nonetheless.

Two: Gerald's Game by Stephen King. Creepy ass book, but amazing.

Three: Carrie by Stephen King Hmmmm...are we noticing a pattern here? haha

Movies:

Nightmare on Elm Street  The thought of a killer who could get to you in your sleep always thoroughly freaked me out, cause then there would be no way to escape him.

The Exorcist Uncut Version This has to be one of the most horrifying things I've ever seen in my life. Totally scarred me. I did not like it, but then I don't generally like horror so I don't know what I was doing watching it to begin with. haha

  1. When the Exorcist came out, it was one of the scariest movies ever.

  2. Who could forget the Nightmare on Elmstreet era? I never saw the movies, but that face was everywhere! (Freaky enough for me) :)

    1. Horrible! I saw it when I was fourteen and had to walk two miles home, in the dark, by myself. It was almost midnight. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. I was convinced Freddy was lurking in every shadow. That walk home scarred me for life. haha

  3. Hey there. There is nothing wrong with having loads of Stephen King books on the list, he is the master when it comes to horror and suspense. If you like him, maybe try some Clive Barker (of Hellraiser fame). The Weaveworld book and Cabal books are very good. Freddie Kruger freaked me out loads too! Thanks for the comment and the follow!

    Cheers,

    W.

    1. I've been meaning to watch it forever. It's on my hard drive but it's so long I keep putting it off. How was it? Worth watching or should I stick to the book? And you're very welcome. It's a great meme! :)

  6. I haven't seen this meme before!

I wish I could write creepy like Stephen King. I never watched the Exorcist (or maybe I've purposefully blocked it from my memory), but I used to love being freaked out by Nightmare on Elm Street movies as a teen.

    1. Yeah, I'd pretty much kill to be able to write like Stephen King. :) The Exorcist wasn't SO bad, but the Exorcist uncut was just...I have no words....

  7. I can't stand most scary movies...but I like some 8-D Like The Woman in Black. That's one of my favourites in fact. My mum has seen Nightmare on Elms Street...I'm not brave enough.

    1. Yeah, I normally don't like scary movies either. Every now and then I'll get pressured into watching one, but I rarely enjoy them.

  8. I just finished (today:) reading IT by Stephen King for the third time (in seventeen years:)

That man is one scary dude, but he is a Red Sox supporter, so I suppose that makes sense :)

    1. haha...I actually thought one of the most disturbing scenes in IT was when the group was losing their connection and Bev had to do what she did to keep them all together--but she was like twelve. That always kinda grossed me out. But yeah, regardless, Stephen King is a scary guy!
